Water Selection for Hydrogen‑Inhalation Machines in the US

Oct 15,2026 | Dr.wellness hydrogen

Water quality is critical for PEM‑based hydrogen inhalation generators. Using incorrect water is one of the top causes of scaling, electrode damage, shortened service life and voided warranty for US‑market units.

✅Recommended water for most PEM hydrogen inhalation machines sold in the US: Distilled water, ideally TDS below 5 ppm. Distilled water is widely available across US supermarkets. Some of our US customers shared positive practical experience using Great‑Value distilled water for their devices.

❌Water types to avoid: Tap water, well water, spring water, mineral bottled‑drinking water, ordinary filtered water. These contain dissolved minerals that form limescale deposits on electrolysis cells and PEM membranes and gradually degrade device performance.

Practical tips: ▪Verify water purity with a TDS‑meter when possible.

💬Question for the community: Are you aware of other US‑available distilled‑water brands delivering near‑zero TDS? Feel free to share in the comments.
