Does it need any additive like sodium hydroxide?
--No need add anyting, just connect the power is ok
The principle of the hydrogen-oxygen machine is to use a solid polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) to electrolyze pure water (or distilled water) into hydrogen and oxygen. This technology transfers hydrogen ions (H+) from the anode to the cathode during water electrolysis through a proton exchange membrane, thereby achieving the separation and generation of hydrogen and oxygen.
Differences from traditional water electrolysis for hydrogen production:
Electrolyte:
Traditional alkaline electrolyzers use alkaline solutions such as potassium hydroxide as electrolytes, while SPE/PEM electrolyzers use solid polymer electrolyte membranes, avoiding the use of corrosive liquids and providing higher hydrogen purity.
Hydrogen purity:
The hydrogen produced by SPE/PEM electrolyzers is higher in purity, reaching more than 99.9%, while the hydrogen purity of traditional alkaline electrolyzers is usually lower and may contain a small amount of potassium hydroxide, etc.
